About the Job
Best Friends Animal Clinic is seeking a full or part-time team member who will be trained for combined assistant and reception duties. We are a small animal practice in Marshall, VA off Rt 66. Our goal is to provide excellent service with emphasis on personalized patient care, client education and a quiet and calm environment for our patients.
Previous veterinary assistant experience is preferred. Familiarity with Avimark is a plus. Must be dependable, quick to learn and able to work unsupervised once trained. We need someone friendly, compassionate, mature, professional and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the doctor with all aspects of patient care for out patient and in-clinic/surgery patients including restraint, taking radiographs, nursing care, surgery preparation and anesthesia monitoring, filling and dispensing medications accurately.
- Reception duties including answering phones, checking clients in and out, processing payments.
- Running in-house lab work and processing samples to go to outside laboratories.
- General house keeping and laundry.
